Make More, Always

I don’t know what to write,
or, rather, what you would like.
Because, I desire to resonate,
create a connection with you.
My hands become idle,
frozen by my own expectations.
How do I move forward?
One word at a time.
Write them down.
Scratch and tear out
the words that don’t sing.
Now, I’m tumbling through
the void of words
lost in the dictionary.
Find the precise words
the ones that ring for you.
What if you can’t hear me?
Is trying pointless?
A voice whispers,
“No effort is wasted.”
True art is excavation.
Drill through basalt.
Find the essence beneath.
Take time to wipe away the grime
and polish what you find.
If it does not shine,
simply make more.
Not every work
will find purchase,
but every piece
brings you one step closer.
So, make more.
Always make more.
